Levi
2017 EMBRACING BRAVE Holiday North Texas Recipient
Levi Malone was born on April 11, 2017 with a congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot, along with severe pulmonary stenosis. He was also born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. After having open heart surgery at 2 weeks old and spending 26 days in the NICU at Cook Children's Medical Center, we took our baby boy home!
In September, Levi was back at Cook Children's for his second open heart surgery. He handled it beautifully! They did have to remove his pulmonary valve due to some complications, but right now, his heart is functioning perfectly fine without it. He should be able to live well without one for many, many years. However, Levi is still at an increased risk of getting sick, and if he does, it could be detrimental to his heart function. To help prevent illness, Levi receives the Synagis shot, monthly, throughout flu season. Even with all of the obstacles put in his way Levi has continued to amaze everyone around him. Levi is currently working on catching up on gross and fine motor skills with a physical therapist each week. He is catching up on all of his milestones and is a happy little boy!
Please pray for Levi as he will be having another surgery in the next couple of month to repair his hernia.
His family is planning to use the proceeds to help with medical bills. To support Levi and his family, you can make a general donation on our Donation page as well as attend our Holiday Event at Painting with a Twist in Keller, TX on December 16th! - 2017
