2021 EMBRACING BRAVE North Texas Recipient

Sammy has four older brothers and is eleven years old. At the age of one he was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome through a blood lab test. This is a genetic mutation of his X Chromosome that expresses itself in Sammy as global delays in walking, talking, low muscle tone (hypotonia), sensory challenges, intellectual disabilities, anxiety, focus challenges and learning delays. He has a cognitive age, approximately, of a three to four year old.

Sammy loves his older brothers and he loves animals. His therapy horses are Cheyenne and Cocoa. His Canine Companion dog's name is Raive. His kitty is Everline (we call her Kitty). Sammy loves puppets. He has many animal and Winnie the Pooh puppets. He has little stuffed Mario and Luigi toys. He has a Nintendo D.S. from his older brothers that he likes to play the Super Mario brothers game. And, of course, he likes movies, his Ipad, and he loves to swim.

Sammy is a very loving little boy and we are so excited for Just for J to provide an adaptive bike that he can learn to ride and increase his strength, stamina and muscle tone!
